Today in "WTF is happening with Scooter Braun," a source tells People that Justin Bieber is working on new music without his longtime manager. This source claims that Justin is "still managed" by Scooter but that the pair hasn't spoken in almost a year, which...!!!!
"Justin's been working on his new record for the last six months. Scooter and SB Projects have not set up one session or done one thing for this [new] record," the source says. "The relationship with Scooter has run its course."
This news comes amid a rapid-fire string of reports that Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, *and* Idina Menzel are also no longer being managed by Scooter.
Per a source who seemingly gave the same quote to People and Variety, the situation pretty much boils down to contract negotiations: "All of Scooter Braun’s clients are under contract and negotiations have been going on for several months as Scooter steps into his larger role as HYBE America CEO. People are spreading rumors based on what they know, but they are off. Scooter’s team at SB Projects are still handling both Justin and Ariana as they work through what this new structure looks like."
Variety also spoke with two other sources—one of who said, "He’s imploding. It’s a different world since the pandemic. You just can’t be an asshole like that anymore." The second insider, on the other hand, simply said, "He’s getting out of management—he has been for years. That’s the real story."
Meanwhile, Scooter has remained quiet on the situation other than posting this:
